Barns and barndominiums for Sacramento and the foothills
Sacramento Barn Builders builds barndominiums, barn homes, pole barns, horse barns, post frame buildings, metal shops and garages. Our builder works out of Cameron Park, on US-50 between Folsom and Placerville, and builds anywhere within 75 miles: from Sacramento, Elk Grove and Roseville to Auburn, Grass Valley, Lake Tahoe, Stockton, Lodi and Modesto.
Every building starts on the ground: a pad cut, filled and drained for clay or rock, engineered plans for the site's seismic, wind and snow loads, then the frame, the roof and walls, the doors and the insulation that keeps a metal building livable through a valley summer. In the foothills, metal roofs and siding and ember-resistant vents go in from the start. We also build homes, additions and guest houses, so finished living space is home turf.
Tell us what you want to build (a hay barn, a horse barn, an RV garage, a shop, a barndominium or a home with a shop) and where the land is. The quote is free.

Questions
Barn and barndominium FAQs
Where do you build?
Our builder works out of Cameron Park, in El Dorado County about 30 miles east of downtown Sacramento, and builds anywhere within 75 miles: Sacramento and the valley, the foothills from Grass Valley to Sonora, Lake Tahoe and Truckee, Stockton, Lodi and Modesto, and out to Vacaville, Brentwood and the Carson Valley. That's 104 towns with their own page here.
What do you build?
Barndominiums, barn homes and shop houses, pole barns, horse barns, post frame buildings, metal shops, metal garages and red-iron steel buildings.
What's the difference between a pole barn, a post frame building and a steel building?
A pole barn and a post frame building both stand on wood columns, set in the ground or bracketed to a slab; post frame is the engineered version used for shops, homes and commercial buildings. A steel building stands on red-iron columns and rafters bolted to a concrete foundation, which allows long clear spans. We help you pick the one that fits the use, the site and the budget.
Do you build finished barndominiums?
Yes. We build barndominiums as a dried-in shell you finish yourself or finished out to move-in ready, with the kitchen, baths, plumbing, electrical and HVAC done. Your call.
Are your quotes free?
Yes. Fill out the form or call (916) 827-4576, tell us the size, what the building is for and where the property is, and a builder gets back to you with a free quote.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We work from engineered plans for your site's seismic, wind and snow loads, pull the permit with your county or city and build to whatever the inspections require, including the wildfire rules that apply across much of the foothills.
